The problem occurs when you consume too much sugar from soft drinks, from sugar hidden in processed foods like energy bars, cakes and cookies. You can also suffer from a sugar overload when you eat too much pasta, bread, potatoes and other starchy foods. Starchy foods are broken down into sugar and this is absorbed into your blood.
