What did you do to lose your weight?

by Jenny Zhou, Volunteer at Dog Shelters www.quora.com I was never chubby or unhealthy but I know that losing weight, personally, is very difficult. My body is skinny-curvy and, while I’d love to be far thinner, that is not how my body was made. I think you ought to know that I don’t exercise. I mean, I walk up and down stairs at school and horseback ride and sometimes surf, but I don’t do cardio. I rarely go to the gym. So what I focus on is my eating habit instead and it helps for me. So the first thing I keep reminding myself is that it’s OK to have “cheat days” — I kinda do what Taylor Swift does… eating healthy during the weekday and going for junk on weekends (to stay sane). I eat quite healthy during the weekday and have an occasional cookie here and there. Protein for breakfast, lighter lunch, and a ‘lil lighter dinner. And I drink LOTS of water to also keep my skin healthy. I also try eating less — not “starving” myself to eating only one slice of ham but, rather,

Why is there no definite cure for Type 2 diabetes?

by John Titor, B.S. Computer Science & Psychology, University of California, Los Angeles (2017) Type 2 diabetes is a serious, long-term medical condition. It develops mostly in adults but is becoming more common in children as obesity rates rise across all age groups. Several factors contribute to type 2 diabetes. Being overweight or obese is the biggest risk factor. Type 2 diabetes can be life-threatening. But if treated carefully, it can be managed or even reversed. Your pancreas makes a hormone called insulin. When your blood sugar (glucose) levels rise, the pancreas releases insulin. This causes sugar to move from your blood to your cells, where it can be used as an energy source. As glucose levels in your blood go back down, your pancreas stops releasing insulin. Type 2 diabetes impacts how you metabolize sugar. Either your pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin or your body has become resistant to its effects. This causes glucose to build up in the blood. This is

WHY RED TEA IS BETTER THAN GREEN TEA

by LIZ SWANN MILLER | OCTOBER 26, 2017 Green tea has long been acknowledged for its health and wellness benefits, including weight loss assistance. The evidence is irrefutable. But are we overlooking something better? It is true that green tea contains powerful antioxidants. These components contribute to minimizing health risks such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. As a Weight Loss Expert, it has been my primary goal to share practical tips and tricks for those pursuing optimal health. In upholding my obligation to transparency, I am about to reveal how green tea, although beneficial, is gradually losing value in the light of its delicious rival – rooibos. Rooibos, also known as red tea, is equally high in antioxidants, however sourced from different substances to that of green tea. The antioxidants contained in rooibos – aspalathin and nothofagin – are comparatively rare, and help to regulate blood sugar, reduce excessive fat production, stress, and inhibit metabolic dis

How do I recondition an old battery of any type?

By Gerry Marchee | https://www.quora.com/ Refurbishing a car battery involves the possibility of contact with battery acid. It is extremely corrosive and can burn skin and destroy clothing. Since batteries release gasses that can be explosive during the charging process, always work in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors.  A good pair of neoprene rubber gloves ensures no battery acid contacts the hands. It is also a good idea to wear a heavy shop apron to protect clothing. Safety glasses help protect the eyes from spray and invisible gases. References: How To Recondition Batteries – Battery Reconditioning Methods The only other necessary items are an inexpensive battery charger,, distilled water, magnesium sulfate (Epsom salt), a funnel, and a turkey baster to remove unwanted electrolyte from the battery. It is important not to substitute anything for Epsom salt or distilled water. Tap water contains contaminants and table salt is not magnesium sulfate. Watch p
