I was never chubby or unhealthy but I know that losing weight, personally, is very difficult. My body is skinny-curvy and, while I’d love to be far thinner, that is not how my body was made.
I think you ought to know that I don’t exercise. I mean, I walk up and down stairs at school and horseback ride and sometimes surf, but I don’t do cardio. I rarely go to the gym. So what I focus on is my eating habit instead and it helps for me.
So the first thing I keep reminding myself is that it’s OK to have “cheat days” — I kinda do what Taylor Swift does… eating healthy during the weekday and going for junk on weekends (to stay sane). I eat quite healthy during the weekday and have an occasional cookie here and there. Protein for breakfast, lighter lunch, and a ‘lil lighter dinner. And I drink LOTS of water to also keep my skin healthy.
I also try eating less — not “starving” myself to eating only one slice of ham but, rather, I make my portions smaller. Instead of eating 3 slices of pizza, I’d eat 2. Instead of drinking a can of Coke, I’d drink half. And if I can help it, I’d not drink sugary beverages at all. Fruit smoothies are good. Don’t have too much cheeses or oily/fried stuff (unless it’s for my cheat day).
You know, I sound like those nutritionists who have their entire meals planned… I really don’t. This is what I usually try doing, but I often fail and eat a buffet Friday night. I don’t exercise.
By no means am I fit and skinny, but I think I’m healthy and these eating tips help me more. However, I think you also need to work out. Eating healthy alone won’t help entirely. I just cannot run for my life.
