Do humans need to actually have a certain amount of sugar in order to not get low blood sugar, or is sugar good for nothing health-wise?

By Ray Schilling, Author:"Healing Gone Wrong, Healing Done Right" Sugar is needed for your brain metabolism, your muscle metabolism and to a certain degree for your liver metabolism. The problem occurs when you consume too much sugar from soft drinks, from sugar hidden in processed foods like energy bars, cakes and cookies. You can also suffer from a sugar overload when you eat too much pasta, bread, potatoes and other starchy foods. Starchy foods are broken down into sugar and this is absorbed into your blood. The end result is an increased insulin production from your pancreas. This causes hardening of the arteries, heart attacks and strokes, Alzheimer’s disease and even cancer. Ray Schilling's answer to How do the production and consumption of sugar affect our journey towards a good life? The overproduction of insulin is also what causes hypoglycemia, which robs you of energy. When you cut out refined sugar and starchy foods, you will notice that you no longer

Metformin

Metformin is one of the most commonly used drugs in the world and has earned its place as the first medication to prescribe for type 2 diabetes and those with type 1 who have insulin resistance. It is effective, inexpensive and has limited side effects. You can read more about why in this 2013 study. Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. It significantly lowers blood sugar for most people. Studied in human since the 1950s, it has a very strong track record of safety and improved outcomes. Side effects tend to be minimal and temporary, though there is a minority of people who do not tolerate it well. It does not cause weight gain or low blood sugars. What is the keto diet?

What is the keto diet? I am on a keto diet. Mine is a bit unusual as I’m allergic to pretty much all nuts. I aim for 20 to 30 grams of net carbs a day. Breakfast is usually tea with heavy cream. Lunch has many options; I like making roll-ups with deli meat & cheese wrapped in lettuce. Dinner consists of meat and veggies. If I make cheese fondue I eat mine with broccoli instead of bread. Likewise, using low carb veggies instead of pasta opens up worlds of options. Dessert is usually strawberries. Measure portion size by weight. Snacks are cheese, hard boiled eggs, cured dry meats, etc. I find myself much happier, and much healthier, while on diet. I lost over 50 pounds. My blood pressure dropped back to healthy levels, my gout vanished, and my blood sugar is just dandy again, thanks for asking. For me it’s not a diet anymore. It’s a lifestyle. Want to try keto diet? How do you lose belly fat?

How do you lose belly fat? Firstly, you should not skip your breakfast, whatever the case may be. Because it is the vital meal of your whole day and the rate of metabolism slows down if you don’t have it. In addition to this, you will be so hungry at your lunchtime that you will end up eating more food than required. So make sure you have a proper and healthy breakfast before leaving your house. Secondly, don’t engross yourself in other things like, reading books or watching TV while eating your food. If you don’t concentrate in your food, you will take more than necessary which is not good for your health as well as your weight. You must enjoy your food with your friends or your family but keep an eye on your food too. Thirdly, you should chew your food at least 35 times before eating, because the researchers have found out that you will consume fewer calories if you chew for longer time. Moreover, it helps you to digest your food faster as well as restrict the size of your port

What can be done to bring about a reversal of diabetes?

What can be done to bring about a reversal of diabetes? Type 1 and 1.5 (LADA) are auto immune diseases which destroy the insulin producing beta cells of the pancreas. There is no reversing this. A new study suggest that using a certain TB vaccine might restore these cells. Type 2 Diabetes is metabolic. It is not caused by being obese. Obesity is a symptom of the metabolic disfunction that is occurring. If obesity was the cause then I imagine every obese person would be a type 2 diabetic but they are not. And there are T2D who were and are not obese. That is a wrong headed simplistic thinking. It is possible for some T2D to bring the disease into remission. That is not a cure. A cure would entail changing the underlying process that causes the syndrome of things. Many T2D before they become obese experience episodes of hypoglycemia. But low blood glucose is the opposite of diabetes right? In a sense it is, however it is a sign that the person does not metabolize glucose correctly.

Why are carbohydrates the cause of diabetes?

Why are carbohydrates the cause of diabetes? Diabetics are carbohydrate intolerant. Carbs cause the biggest spike in blood sugar and people who develop diabetes (2) have little to no control over their insulin sensitivity in the face of carbs. In Has carbohydrate-restriction been forgotten as a treatment for diabetes mellitus? Westman and Vernon explain that before the invention of insulin, metformin and all the other anti-diabetes drugs, carbohydrate restriction was the treatment of choice for diabetics. “The dietary recommendation for diabetes in a prominent internal medicine textbook from 1923 was 75% fat, 17% protein, 6% alcohol and only 2% carbohydrate. The recommended total daily energy intake was 1,795 Calories per day. After the discovery of insulin and oral hypoglycemic medications, experts gradually changed the dietary recommendations to include more carbohydrate intake because most experts reasoned that the medications could be used to keep the glucose in control.” T

Why do diabetics need their legs amputated?

Why do diabetics need their legs amputated? Are there any alternative methods that can prevent amputation? Diabetic people who require amputation(s) have such poor blood circulation in their extremities that their limbs are slowly dying and can become sources of generalized blood infections, which are deadly. The high blood glucose of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus is very damaging to arteries throughout the body. Our bodies need a certain range of blood glucose to function well; one of the many things that happen when blood glucose is consistently too high is arterial damage. When our arteries don’t work well, not only does that body part not get enough oxygenated nutrient-rich blood, it also can’t effectively move the deoxygenated, waste-rich blood out. The whole blood circuit is compromised and the tissues in that area become damaged. Diabetic people can have very poor circulation to their extremities. They may get sores very easily, which don’t heal quickly or well because

10 Renegade Beliefs of Vince Gironda

Vince Gironda is one of bodybuilding’s pioneers. In fact many call him the father of bodybuilding. His roots go all the way back to the mid-1900s, when he opened his own gym in 1948, in North Hollywood, California. As a trainer and gym owner, Vince quickly developed a reputation as a trainer of champions, including the very first IFBB Mr. Olympia in 1965. From there, his fame grew and his gym began attracting some of the biggest names in bodybuilding, including Lou Ferrigno, Frank Zane and even Arnold Schwarzenegger. Vince became well known for being a trainer of champion bodybuilders and Hollywood celebrities, but his training concepts and philosophies generated a lot of controversy. Many of his ideas were considered to be unconventional by much of the bodybuilding community. Despite his ‘unorthodox’ viewpoints, a lot of people really believed in Vince and his theories about bodybuilding and nutrition. Let’s take a look at some of the most polarizing things Vince said, and you can d

Jho Low Moves To Block Books On 1MDB - EXCLUSIVE

Lawyers acting for the fugitive financier Jho Low, who is believed to be hiding in China, are seeking to threaten UK publishers and distributors in an attempt to block two upcoming books on the 1MDB scandal. The books are The Sarawak Report by the editor of this site and Billion Dollar Whale written by journalists from the Wall Street Journal. Both are due to be published next month. Information made available to Sarawak Report indicates that the lawyers have advised Jho Low that British libel laws can be best exploited by threatening intermediaries with expensive legal engagement, rather than seeking to challenge the authors who are armed with copious information about the heist. Yesterday, the UK publisher of The Sarawak Report received a letter from the London law firm Schillings, which has emerged as the company hired by Low to represent him regarding alleged defamation issues.  The letter threatened the publisher with “substantial damages” on the basis that the law firm assume
